A domain name, your address on the Internet, says a lot about who you are and what you do. New domain endings like .guru and .photography can help you find a meaningful address that stands out on the web. Every domain includes easy forwarding, branded email (you@your_company.com), simple management tools and other helpful features.

Build a site

Whether you’re a rookie or a veteran, our website building providers offer everything you’ll need to easily create a beautiful website. This is an optional service offered by Shopify, Squarespace, Weebly and Wix. For an additional cost, you’ll enjoy secure, reliable hosting, customizable web templates and powerful features like e-commerce, drag & drop creation and mobile site-management. No coding required!

Talk to us

We aren’t ready for everyone to join yet (you currently need an invitation code to buy or transfer a domain), so we want those who join to play an active role in helping us improve. We're working hard to offer our customers the best domain experience possible, and we welcome your input, questions and feedback.

installing pLoader of piwigo on linux mint

it is not easy to install ploader on linux mint

first have to download the .gz file then

run the .sh file

1)First of all, download the file that you are going to execute e.g. "name_of_file.sh" and save it in your Desktop

2)Secondly open the Terminal from Menu  Accessories  Terminal

3)Now type cd ~/Desktop (With this command we change the default directory "/" to "/Desktop")

4)Then type chmod +x name_of_file.sh to make your file executable.

5)Then type sh ./name_of_file.sh to execute the file.

6)After that continue as usual.

 --------------
on running the file i got an error

-----------------
Here comes a fresh tutorial to launch pLoader from sources, and this should solve your problem. pLoader will be installed in your home directory.

Code:

sudo apt-get install perl libwx-perl-processstream-perl libfile-slurp-perl libfile-homedir-perl libjson-perl libdigest-md5-file-perl libimage-exiftool-perl subversion
svn co  http://piwigo.org/svn/extensions/pLoader/trunk $HOME/pLoader

Then in the top panel, let's add a launcher:

1) right-click on the top panel, "Add to panel", "Custom Application Launcher", button "Add"
2) fill the fields:

Type : Application
Name : pLoader
Command : perl /home/plg/pLoader/src/ploader.pl

3) click on the "Ok" button

A new shortcut appears, feel free to click on it :-)

site DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

this error comes on google chrome when you have a site cname pointing to another dns and the cpanel of the domain having another dns. what worked for me is to have two more dns entries pointing to the subdomain listed in the cname

chrome
The server at xxx.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Chromium from accessing the network.
Error code: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

firefox
Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Which blog URL do you experience this on please?
Are you running Chrome?
Are you running Ghostery?

Gallery is going into hibernation
Submitted by bharat on Fri, 2014-06-20 23:19
The Gallery team has decided to take a step back from actively maintaining this project. Truth be told, most of the core team got busy with their lives over the past few years and we haven't had the time to really actively maintain the project in a long time. The forums have continued to be lively and helpful and there is still plenty of good conversation there - but no new code has been written in the past 6 months and that's not likely to change.

installing antix linux on a 256mb ram laptop

so with the reviews i decided to go for antiX linux for my old laptop.

It failed to burn to my cd with error 8000 so i used linux mints usb image burner ( found in accessories) to burn it to a usb drive.

On booting it takes you to the desktop .it may take some time to boot
You can double click in the install option on the desktop and then enter the password "root" to start the install . The install may not work if the disk is not partitioned well

so from the menu use the partition utility and partition the hdd

make one ext4 partition for  /
one swap

GhostBSD is a user friendly operating system based on FreeBSD, which attempts to conform to the Single Unix Specification. FreeBSD is known for its stability and security in server environments, which incidentally provides an excellent base for a desktop operating system. GhostBSD is based on well designed and thoroughly tested Open Source solutions to create an easy to use familiar workspace that can be used at home and in office / production environments. The live environment can also be used to rescue data. It supports the most popular lightweight and fully-featured desktop environments (including Gnome, Mate, XFCE, LXDE, and Openbox), FreeBSD's next generation package management system, Apache Open Office, Libre Office, LibreCAD, Eclipse / Anjuta development environments (for C, C++, Java, Javascript, Jala, and Python), and more.

Physical Address Extension (PAE) is a feature found on almost all 32 bit processors produced after Pentium Pro, ie. younger than around 1995. Because PAE is close to being a standard it is now a requirement for Ubuntu: During installation the processor is prompted for the PAE flag, and only if present the process will carry on.

Lubuntu and Xubuntu offered a PAE and a non-PAE release up to and including 12.04, but from 12.10 only the PAE releases are maintained.
